Twigs: stout, bloomy, olive-brown, chambered pith, breaking twigs also produces rubbery substance
Flowers: dioecious, inconspicuous clusters of stamens of a single pistil
Fruit: like a waxy flesy elm fruit with compressed wings, 1.5" long, oval, notched at apex
Bark: ridges and furrows on old trees, gray-brown
