Size: tree, 20-25' average height at maturity
Buds: terminal absent, laterals with 2-3 scales, small, rounded, brownish
Leaves: deciduous, alternate, up to 20" long bipinnately compound, 10-20 pinnae, each with 40-60 falcate oblong very oblique leaflets, .5-.25 long, dark green, ciliate, doesn't leaf out until late May or early June
Twigs: slender, green-gray at maturity, heavily lenticelled, glabrous, angled
Flowers: light to deep pink, brush-like, bloom May-August
Fruit: pod 5-7" long, 1" wide, light straw to gray-brown, thin, appear September-October, persist into winter
